Thai foot reflexology massage

The genuine reflexology is the application of pressure onto particular areas of the soles of the feet. A reflex action in another part of the body is stimulated by the manipulation of each specific area. Unlike other massages that use thumbs, palms, hands, elbow, knee and foot, foot reflexology massage uses hands, fingers and a wood stick with cream and oil.

According to Chinese medicine, the sensory nerves of the internal organs that spread throughout the body are mainly gathered around the soles of the feet. Therefore, the massage is effective in stimulating the functions of the internal organs. Another advantage of this therapy is that there is no risk. The pain felt there will disappear when the masseur finishes the process.

The Benefits of Foot Reflexology Massage

Restrictions:

  • The massage must be done with accuracy to avoid wrong reflection which will cause muscle infection.
  •  One should not receive a massage until at least one hour after a meal.
  • After receiving a massage, one is required to drink water to eliminate toxin and lactic acids developed during the massage process. Pregnant women, menstruating women and people who are bleeding either internally or externally are not allowed to receive foot reflexology massage.
  • Foot reflexology massage can be given every day but the total duration of both feet in a day should not exceed 45 minutes. However, only ten minutes is allowed for patients who used to suffer from heart attack.

Relaxation massage

Relaxation massage is a gentle massage that uses smooth, gliding strokes to help you relax.

There are substantial health benefits to a relaxation massage.  Gentle massage stimulates sensory nerve endings in the skin, which transmit messages through the nervous system and cause the brain to release endorphins.  These are the body’s natural painkillers, feel-good chemicals that create a sense of well-being.

Massage further aids relaxation by stimulating the body’s parasympathetic nervous system, sometimes called the “rest and digest system.”  Blood pressure decreases, heart rate slows, and digestive activity increases. Relaxation massage also increase blood circulation and stimulates the body’s lymphatic system, which carries away waste products.

Therapeutic massage

If you have particular muscle tension or chronic pain a remedial massage may be for you. I will assess where you need treatment and what may be causing your pain. I will perform some tests to see exactly which muscles are giving you trouble and will tailor a treatment plan to suit.

The treatment itself may involve deep tissue work for short periods of time, but the results are definitely worth it!

Conditions such as sciatica, carpal tunnel, stiff necks, headaches, sports injuries and many more can be eased with a remedial treatment.

REIKI

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive.

If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing.
